This reminded me of minestrone soup but with bigger chunks and sausage meatballs in it. It would be nice in the middle of winter, not on the hottest day of September.
Joe: "Vegetables galore, I want some more!" From GoodFood 101 Easy student dinners
Carrot, houmous, watercress and tomato sandwich. Wasn't sure about this but 'tis delicious! and healthy too! Bit big for my mouth and making a lot of mess though. If I make it again it will be a single decker because I couldn't eat it all.
First time I've ever had tacos and they were a bit of a fail. Didn't realise you had to warm up the taco shells before you put stuff in so they tasted stale and Amber didn't tell us to warm them up 'til they were loaded!
Amber: "Yummy scrummy if it wasn't in a taco. I don't like taco shells, they're too crunchy and unpredictable. As in they shatter and they hit you in the face."
This is a peanut butter, apple and watercress roll. I thought it sounded a bit rank but actually tastes quite nice, although the peanut butter dries your mouth up.
Made 3 toasted pitta breads with cheddar, soft cheese, sweetcorn, tomatoes and ham/tuna. They were nice but needed ketchup! And the cheese fell out the ends...
Joe: "Tasty. Tasty treat. I didn't even get in a mess."
Dippy eggs and toast with butter, Marmite and seeds. It was a good combo but the eggs were a little undercooked, I liked them but Joe refused to eat the sloppy bits!
This is basically cooked muesli with honey in so bits get stuck together. I didn't use scales to make it because they'd run out of batteries so I had to guess all the quantities. Think I might have put too much honey in because it's quite sickly but it's very nice and I'll probably make it again (with scales) and will chop the nuts up next time.
This is the first recipe in the book and possibly the easiest, with only 4 ingredients: grated apple, oats, yoghurt and blueberries. Just mixed it all together and ate it cold. Had it for breakfast, didn't look very nice to be honest but it does taste good, just not as good as Special K or mini Weetabix...
